"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." Peter 2:9(NIV) "I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you." Leviticus 26:9(NIV) "For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless." Psalm 84:11(NIV "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." John 1:16 (NIV) I sat down on numerous occasions to write between yesterday and today and nothing "profound" or inspirational came to mind. Then I "borrowed" an idea from my friend Dana's blog. (click her name to visit her blog) She participates in "Thankful Thursday." Since it is no longer Thursday, I figured I could do a "Favored Friday" -- it's the closest thing I could think of. The scriptures tell us that those of us who have accepted Jesus as our Savior are heirs with him for eternity. The Lord loves to bless those He loves just as earthly parents love to lavish gifts and praises on our children. So, without further ado, here are the things I am thankful for and consider to be "favors" from God:
- My hubby and his willingness to do whatever he has to take to care of our family.
- That my hubby still has his job since layoffs are going on within his company.
- For our sweet boy - He is so lovable and sweet. Just watching him daily is a testament to the Lord. I can't imagine loving him more, yet the Lord does.
- For my church and the wonderful friends I have made and how much I get to be a part of the body of Christ
- For the "things" the Lord has allowed my family to have
- For our home and that we have food on the table
- For the fact that I am free to worship the Lord without fear of prosecution
- For the comparative study Bible my hubby gave me for Christmas
- For my Bible study
- For my family
- That my little fella is no longer sick
- For our weather in Fl -- we get a little cold snap for a couple of days just to remind us that it is still winter and then "BAM" 5 more days of 80 weather.
- For everything the Lord has done -- all the blessings
I hope all of you take the time to count your blessings. This helps me appreciate the little things in life and see how important they are in the overall scheme of things.
Dear Lord -- I am thankful for ALL things and situations in my life - both good and not so good. I know they are all for Your glory and purpose. I pray blessings upon all my friends and family. Thank you again for the life you are allowing me to live. I pray that you use me as you see fit to further Your kingdom. AMEN
