Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) It is sooooooo easy to get caught up with "keeping up with the Jones'" in today's world. I am just as guilty as the next girl of wanting more and more of "stuff" (as you tell by my previous post). As I mature in my walk with Lord, I find that it is not about "stuff" but about sufficiency in Christ and Christ alone! Without Him, we would continue to seek something to fulfill us and believe me it's not out there apart from Him! This week I am thankful for the following:
- That Christ accepts me as one of His own
- That hubby and I are getting our home in order and clearing out the clutter in our personal and physical lives
- That hubby is doing well with his spiritual journey to grow closer to the Lord
- That my little fella came home yesterday and told me how he can love because Jesus loved him first !!! (so cute and so cool that my little man at the age of 4 is getting it!!)
- That my little fella is surrounded by Christian friends and family
- For the wood floors we were able to order on Tues
- For my fun night with friend at Bon Jovi -- and for the fact that while I enjoyed the music, I began praying for those around me as so many seemed lost -- I missed the movement of the Spirit that I feel at Christian events
- That I got listed on MercyMe's blog roll!!! -- their blog blesses me every day (it is so real and funny)
- That our church sold out of Women of Faith tickets - last year we had to sell our extras on the message board but now we are going to go with many sisters from our home church -- what a great time of fellowship we will have
- For my wonderful husband, awesome friends, great in-laws and a really cool mom!!!
