Thankful Thursday

The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's (grandmother's) God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2 (NIV- emphasis and word added mine) What a whirlwind I have had since the Sunday prior when I received a phone call after church that my beloved Grandmother was sick and not expected to live. She was the one constant in my life and my beacon in every storm!! She was so grounded in life and her foundation was in the Lord Jesus Christ!! Now, she has received her inheritance and is a joint-heir with HIM in Heaven. What a beautiful bride she must have been and how excited she must have been to finally be united with her bridegroom!! I am thankful for all the support and prayers from friends met and unmet!! I am thankful that my wonderful hubby was able to fly in late Friday night and be there for Grandma's service on Sat evening. I am thankful that the Lord worked it out that my hubby's company paid for his airline and car rental as he was previously scheduled to be 4 hours away on Monday. He was able to come in early and spend the weekend with the family and attend the service. I was honored to be asked to speak and offer a tribute to my granny. (I plan to post my eulogy in the next day or so) Praise the Lord for traveling mercies -- The majority of our family made the trip to back home to Florida on Sunday but my mother, Little Man, 2 of his cousins and I were able to stay a couple of extra days to help wrap up some loose ends. Praise that the Lord kept us safe and sane as we drove home 11 hours today with a 4, 5 and 6 year old in the backseat!! Thank you for portable DVD players and fast food! I am thankful for the upcoming vacation that our little family has planned I am thankful that I was able to call my buddy Trish last Fri when I was in crisis. I am thankful that the Lord allows us all to grieve in our own way. For forgiveness, salvation and the assurance that I will see my granny again some day!! That Granny went peacefully in her sleep to be with our Lord That the gospel was presented at her service - I pray that our lost family and friends were impacted.. Pray that seeds were planted and watered!! Thankful for all things!!! For more TT, check out Sting my Heart!! Blessings, Paula
