Thankful Thursday

I am so excited! Today is my first official Thankful Thursday post! Like most of us, I too often spend my time rushing around focusing on the undone versus stopping to smell the proverbial roses. It is refreshing to not only stop and smell the roses but to also really admire the color variations within the blooms; to really take in the majesty of just one piece of art in God's vast gallery. So, stop and take a deep breath....and look around you with eyes anew with wonder. "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." Colossians 3:15 (NIV)

Here are just a few of the things I am thankful for this week:

  • Thanks to Dana for guiding me through the blogging process (you're a great mentor)
  • Thanks to Iris for starting "Thankful Thursday"
  • That my dear hubby did not get laid off from his job this past week -- the Lord spared us this round
  • Dear hubby made it back from his motorcycle weekend with his friends
  • For Tracy for taking a cake decorating class with me
  • For the push I needed to get to the gym -- (by the way, I am going today too)
  • For our home and all that the Lord provides for our family
  • For all my friends
  • That my brother and his family found a home to rent and my brother went back to work
  • For my in-laws for their support, love and encouragement
  • For my mom and her enthusiasm and belief that God always comes through
  • For the weather
  • For my Bible study leaders -- you are such a blessing to me
  • For this Easter season -- the greatest gift ever given was placed on a cross, buried in a tomb but rose again so that we would have refuge and deliverance from the darkness of our sin! God is good all the time!!!

Blessing to you all and Happy Thankful Thursday!!

The cake decorating class sounds fun. My sister and I took one together about 16 years ago. It gave me the basics that I needed. At the time I had no idea that I'd have to make so many birthday cakes over the years.

Every one I have talked to says they enjoyed the class. My friend and fellow blogger Dana has shown me some of her cakes and I can't wait to get started. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Welcome to the Thankful Thursday 'bunch' Paula. I am so glad that you are joining us. Yeah - Dana is a sweetheart :) I am blessed blogging with her at Laced with Grace.
I love what you said in the beginning - not to smell the roses but also look at their colors :)

I am glad that your hubby still has his job :) It is so uncertain in these days.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this past week.

Blessings to you and your precious family.
